The Wantagh-Levittown Volunteer Ambulance Corps is always seeking new members who are caring and community minded. No prior experience is necessary.

Upon completion of the Probationary period, members may become an EMT and/or Driver.

Several opportunities exist for members to get involved in many aspects of operating the organization, whether it is administration, vehicle maintenance, fundraising, or community events.

Our members come from a variety of medical backgrounds including EMTs, Paramedics, Nurses, Doctors, and Physician Assistants, but we also have students, Teachers, Police Officers, Engineers, Attorneys, Accountants, and more.

Membership Requirements

Senior: 

18 years +

  • 24 Riding Hours A Month
  • 2 Parades per Year
  • General Membership Meeting – 2nd Monday of every month
  • Monthly Details

Probationary trainings are weekly on Wednesday nights, for the first 6-12 months of membership.

Cadets: 

13 – 17 years old

  • Weekly Trainings
  • 2 Parades per Year
  • Monthly General Membership Meeting 
  • 8 Riding Hours per Month (Ages 16 and 17)

Cadet Probationary trainings are weekly on Sunday afternoons for the first 6-12 months of membership.

Cadet Corps Application

Thank you for your interest in the Wantagh-Levittown Volunteer Ambulance Corps, Cadet Corps.

The cadet corps is comprised of teens, from Levittown and Wantagh, who volunteer their time to support the ambulance corps, promote community involvement, and develop positive social interactions with peers.

Cadets meet weekly to discuss their activities, hold fundraisers such as their summer car washes, and learn about first aid and EMS.  Cadets also attend events with senior members of the corps to help with public relations and community outreach. They have mandatory trainings, parades, details, and events throughout the year.

Cadet Requirements: 

13 – 17 years old

  • Weekly Trainings
  • 2 Parades per Year
  • Monthly General Membership Meeting 
  • 8 Riding Hours per Month (Ages 16 and 17)
